Job Summary
The School of Education at The University of
Southern Mississippi (USM) invites applicants for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure
track Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2025 with
requirements to be physically present on the Hattiesburg and/or Gulf Coast campuses.
The Secondary Education faculty currently provide training to initial licensure
candidates in Secondary Education. We are especially interested in candidates
whose experience includes bridging research and practice primarily in secondary
education but whose experience also includes educational administration
settings. We aim to recruit applicants
with a background in Curriculum and Instruction/Secondary who will primarily support
the School of Education’s Secondary Education programs but are also eligible to
contribute to the Educational Administration programs which provide training to
advanced licensure candidates in educational leadership. Program delivery
includes face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching and mentoring students across programs.
- Supervising secondary and educational administration clinical experiences.
- Engaging with community partner districts, schools, and community colleges.
- Contributing to program and profession through service activities.
- Collaborating with colleagues on program development and assessment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
