Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)

Usmile Dental is seeking an EFDA to join our dynamic team.

• Assisting with Dental Procedures:
• Assisting the dentist during various procedures such as fillings, crowns, and other restorative treatments.
• Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.

• RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Must be proficient in composite restorations.
• Placing dental sealants.
• Taking impressions for crowns, bridges, dentures, or orthodontic appliances.
• Taking radiographs (X-rays).
• Performing basic dental charting and documentation.
• Patient Care and Education:
• Preparing patients for treatment, ensuring they are comfortable.
• Providing instructions for post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices.
• Educating patients about various dental procedures and preventive care.
• Assisting with Lab Work:
• Pouring and trimming dental impressions and models.
• Assisting in the creation of crowns, bridges, and other prosthetics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education and Training: Completion of an EFDA certification program, which includes both classroom education and clinical practice.
• State Licensing: Many states require dental assistants to become licensed before performing expanded functions. This may involve passing written and clinical exams.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding radiation safety.
• Good communication skills for working with patients and other dental professionals.
• Detail-oriented, especially when performing procedures that require precision.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
