Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate Sterilization Standards: Implement AMI standards, IFU's, SDSs, and policies for instrument and supply sterilization.
- Explain Current Practices: Provide rationale for current practices and procedures.
- Work Independently: Utilize time management skills effectively and work efficiently.
- Demonstrate Good Body Mechanics: Maintain safe working posture and prevent injuries.
- Address Practice Issues: Speak up to resolve practice-related concerns.
- Ensure Instrument Availability: Coordinate the availability of instruments and supplies for cases as needed.
- Maintain Autoclaves and Equipment: Ensure adequate functioning and cleaning of autoclaves and other sterilization equipment.
- Manage Supplies Effectively: Maintain necessary supplies without waste for the sterilization process.
- Document Accurately: Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
- Facilitate Operating Room Efficiency: Facilitate turnover times to promote operating room efficiency.
- Prioritize Personal Safety: Use Standard Universal Precautions, hand hygiene, PPE, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
- Participate in Emergency Preparedness: Assist with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participate in emergency preparedness drills.
- Comply with Equipment Guidelines: Follow all equipment and safety guidelines, and use equipment knowledgeably and safely.
- Interact Effectively with Patients and Staff: Interact appropriately and effectively with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff members regardless of age or ethnic background.
- Serve as a Resource: Serve as a resource to other healthcare team members.
- Attend Training and Meetings: Attend in-service training, required education, conferences, and meetings to learn new skills as required.
- Maintain Patient Confidentiality: Communicate effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staffs, patients, and employees, maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality per policy.
- Maintain Designated Certifications: Maintain designated certifications such as CPR, as offered by the center.
- Adhere to Company Policies: Act in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center, complying with policies and procedures, and adhering to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment.
