We are hiring for an Assistant Project Manager for a well-known commercial construction company in Reno!
A Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Manager in all aspects of a commercial construction project, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, site supervision, and communication with clients and subcontractors, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards while gaining hands-on experience in the commercial construction field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Assist in developing detailed project schedules using project management software.
- Track project progress against the schedule and identify potential delays.
- Create and maintain project documentation including submittals, RFI logs, and change orders.
- Budget Management:
- Monitor project costs against the budget and identify areas for cost savings.
- Analyze cost reports and track expenditures.
- Assist in preparing and managing project budgets.
- Site Supervision:
- Regularly visit the construction site to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct quality inspections and address any quality issues.
- Communication and Client Relations:
- Attend client meetings and provide project updates.
- Facilitate communication between the project team, subcontractors, and clients.
- Respond to client concerns and requests promptly.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Monitor and report on project risks throughout the construction process.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Prepare project reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain project files and documentation.
- Assist with contract administration and change order management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
