Duties
- Deliver mail and packages to designated rural routes in a timely manner.
- Operate a postal vehicle, including manual transmission vehicles, adhering to all traffic regulations.
- Load and unload mail and packages, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to mail delivery.
- Perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading mail.
- Assist with moving items within the postal facility as needed.
- Follow established safety protocols while driving and handling mail.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with the public.
- Experience in route driving or courier services is preferred.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and perform manual handling tasks effectively.
- Previous experience in warehouse settings is advantageous.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting (up to 70 pounds) as part of daily responsibilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
- Ability to navigate rural areas efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
