Location: United States, remote with some travel 

Position: Full-Time/Salaried 

Salary: $55,000

About: USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization’s mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.

USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves multiple constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, parents of rowers, masters rowers, adaptive rowers, collegiate rowers, indoor rowers and, most recently, coastal rowers.

We are focused on growing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the sport of rowing on a national scale, on increasing support for our national team programs, and providing additional benefits and value to our over 77,000 individual members and 1,430 rowing organizations.

Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Social Media and Content Associate to execute our social media strategy for the broader organization through the lens of Performance, Experience, and Inclusion. The Associate will be responsible for developing video and graphic content to support with executing innovative social media campaigns that drive engagement and affinity among all USRowing stakeholders. This position is responsible for leveraging our social media channels to effectively communicate our vision, mission, and values; ensure delivery of clear, concise, and brand-aligned messaging for all program and governance communications; and grow sport awareness by promoting rowing, national team athletes, and USRowing programming across the country. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of multiple accounts, supporting online reputation management, and fostering an engaged fan base to support sport growth.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Campaigns. Develop and implement comprehensive and integrated social media campaigns that align with marketing, brand, PR, and communications strategies while supporting our vision, mission, values, and objectives.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with athletes, community members, partners, and internal personnel on video and graphic content creation for social media channels.
  • Engagement: Engage with the community, providing service and response to comments and messages to promote a positive online community around the brand.
  • Live Coverage: Oversee coverage of the U.S. National Team’s races, and owned events and regattas, including real-time updates.
  • Trends: Stay up to date with social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to keep the organization at the forefront of digital engagement.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making. Monitor, analyze, and report on social media performance using insights to optimize strategy and engagement.
  • Project Management. Deliver against deadlines for social content creation and amplification. This includes using Monday.com to actively manage assignments, deadlines, and communicate to internal stakeholders.
  • Partner Activation: Leverage social media platforms, content, and strategies to maximize the value, reach, and exposure USRowing provides to its partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience managing multiple social media accounts and creating channel specific content for a sports or entertainment property.
  • Track record of developing and executing successful campaigns and strategies using social media platforms and reporting tools.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and grammar skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and proven video editing skills.
  • Creative problem solver and analytical thinker with a demonstrated history of using data to test, iterate, and improve upon marketing tactics and strategies.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to multitask and work independently with strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional Ability to balance multiple initiatives and deadlines simultaneously.
  • communication, collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
  • Passion for sports, an understanding of rowing’s culture and audience is a plus.
