What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Support Coordinator position at UT Dallas?
The Academic Support Coordinator position is a key member of the School's lead administrative team. The role requires a highly organized, energetic, detail-oriented individual who takes initiative and exhibits strong leadership skills. Event management experience is a must. The position will provide opportunities for creative problem-solving and innovation to help faculty and students succeed.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four or more years of administrative office experience in an academic environment. Excellent computer skills with various programs and ability to work with specialized databases. Outstanding customer service skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and manage departmental events, most importantly the school-based commencement ceremony; own all aspects of organizing, coordinating, staffing, and managing each event.
- Administer the School's course schedule; work closely with the dean and faculty to update and optimize the academic schedule each semester.
- Work closely with the school's Marketing Communications team to promote events and projects.
- Administer the School's scholarship program, which opens each spring and is processed and awarded each summer.
- Manage and complete various administrative and operational tasks per the needs of the department.
- Organize and present staff meetings.
- Intermediate Microsoft Suite skills, especially Word and Excel, are necessary.
