Job Description
We seek a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Gastroenterology department as a full-time, day shift employee in Athens, TX. The ideal candidate will perform administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a physician, including scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical responsibilities may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by the physician.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and current licensure as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. Preferred qualifications include six months' experience in a medical clinic setting and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
