JOB SUMMARY
The Grants & Contracts Specialist II is responsible for managing post-award non-financial activities in compliance with sponsoring agencies. This position also provides guidance, support, and assistance to principal investigators with award management to meet deadlines, adequately fund budgets and close out awards on time.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS
- Ensures institutional compliance with all provisions set forth by awards, including any applicable federal, state, UTHSCT / UTT or UT System requirements.
- Manages assigned sponsored programs award activities.
- Assists, prepare, and / or provides input and review for sponsored programs account budgets, contract compliance, reporting, close-out activities and other transactions.
- Assist with new grant orientation for new principal investigators / project directors on policies and procedures required for sponsored projects.
- Analyze project expenditures to ensure costs are allowable for sponsored projects.
- Notify Grant Accountants of any accounting transactions that need to be processed.
- Prepare Requests for budget changes.
- Work closely with Accounting and Budget to set up new awards.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
