JOB SUMMARY :
Reporting to the Director of Pathway Programs and Recruitment, the Program Manager assists in the day-to-day operations for the Office of Pathway Programs & Recruitment. This position works closely with public and private K-12 schools across the East Texas region. This position is primarily responsible for conducting outreach, engagement, programs, and activities with students enrolled in K-12 schools. The position requires the ability to manage personnel and relationships. Will require some local travel and evening and weekend hours. Use of a personal vehicle for work-related local travel.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS :
- Travels within the service area to promote pathway programs, the UT Tyler School of Medicine and recruit participants for Pathway Programs.
- Designs, manages, organizes, and coordinates high-impact, educational and engaging programming for public and private K-12 student populations.
- Develops and coordinates presentations for various stakeholders to highlight the goals of pathway programs and mission of the School of Medicine.
- Establishes working relationships with various personnel at local K-12 schools to provide information on the School of Medicine and promote Pathway Programs.
- Prepares and disseminates newsletter to K-12 schools.
- Manages all aspects of programming for 194 ISDs and private schools in East Texas including but not limited to day activities, weekend programming, and summer camps.
- Manages program applicant screening, selection, and interview process.
- Designs and implements assessment plans for program participants.
- Manages the creation and dissemination of assessment tools and metrics.
- Analyzes and prepares reports and evaluations of implemented K-12 programs to include tracking and follow-up with prospective participants, as well as teachers and administrators.
- Analyzes and prepares reports and evaluations on the student's development throughout program involvement, creating and managing intervention tools when necessary.
- Manages scheduling for visits, tours, and programs across East Texas service area (including on[1]campus, virtual, and designated sites).
- Manages mobile unit activation schedule for various K-12 pathway initiatives.
- Assists the Director with undergraduate and community pathway programs and projects.
- Supervises part-time employees including but not limited to student assistants and interns.
- Supervises full-time staff members.
- Establishes and maintains strong lines of communication between K-12 teachers, counselors, and administrators, offering regular opportunities for dialogue on Pathway Program development and requirements.
- Manages annual budget and assists with the preparation of budget requests and reports.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
