What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Pediatric ICU Anesthesiologist position at UT Southwestern Medical Center?
Pediatric ICU Anesthesiology. We are looking for a Fellowship Trained Pediatric Anesthesiologist (advanced fellowship and subspecialty training are preferred). Responsibilities include direct patient care in pediatric anesthesiology with teaching and supervision of pediatric anesthesiology fellows, anesthesiology residents, and other trainees. Advance specialty training or experience is preferred.
Responsibilities include direct patient care as well as teaching and supervision of anesthesiology residents and fellows, medical students, and other trainees. Opportunities are currently available in general anesthesiology. Position in the subspecialties of cardiovascular, obstetric, pediatric anesthesiology, critical care medicine, pain management, and goal-oriented research occasionally occur. Consideration for appointment in these roles would be given to candidates with demonstrated training and/or experience in the field. Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license prior to employment and be BC/BE with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). Candidates are appointed as Assistant Instructor if they do not have board certification at hire; continued employment will be contingent upon receipt of ABA certification within two (2) years of initial hire date. Candidates seeking less than a full-time position will be considered.
Applicants must have or be able to obtain a Texas medical license prior to employment and be BC/BE with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). If the candidate is not Board certified the candidate will be appointed as Assistant Instructor at hire. Continued employment will be contingent upon receipt of ABA certification within two (2) years of initial hire date. Pediatric Anesthesiology subspecialty certification must be obtained within two (2) years of subspecialty training completion. Pediatric Anesthesiologists hold faculty appointments in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Management at UT Southwestern Medical Center; however, their primary practice is based at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.
