Job Summary
Join UT Southwestern as a Manager of Internal Communications for the Human Resources department. The Human Resources Internal Communications Manager works under minimum supervision to develop and execute communications strategies and plans that support Human Resources (HR) objectives, reaching targeted internal audiences across a range of channels. This position leads the development and components of the employee brand overall, in partnership with other communications leaders and functional leaders.
Required Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least seven years of experience in public relations, with at least two years in employee communications and two years working with web responsibilities, either Internet or Intranet.
Management, budget, and strategic experience, as well as writing and editing experience and portfolio required.
Job Duties
- Oversees internal communications for UT Southwestern Medical Center Human Resources.
- Manages and implements content on the HR intranet site to create an effective new communications medium.
- Working primarily with the Chief Human Resources Officer and secondarily with the Assistant Vice President of Communications, develops HR internal communications strategies and work plans. Achieves leadership commitment and support.
- Provides strategic counsel on positioning and development/delivery of key HR internal messages.
- Fosters and helps drive culture change and employee brand.
- Ensures the dissemination internally of timely, credible and accurate communications.
- Develops and implements HR communications governance structure aligned with overall communication governance for UT Southwestern.
- Manages a broad range of HR internal communications projects.
- Collaborates with all functions and areas of the organization as it relates to developing and editing audience-specific HR messaging content.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
