The Fundraising Specialist is central to the fundraising effort for Utah Food Banks Mobile School Pantry program. This includes communicating with donors and sponsors, visiting program sites, and applying for funding. In addition to these responsibilities, the Fundraising Specialist will conduct research, assist with larger grants, and assist with gift acknowledgement as needed. They will record all interactions with donors in our CRM, Raisers Edge NXT. Responsibilities include assistance with other development areas, such as events, gift processing and other Development Department focuses.
Duties:
Maintain appropriate, consistent communication with program donors
Complete shorter grant requests and reports
Assist with larger grants and other projects
Work closely with program staff to ensure that Mobile School Pantry program Google docs are accurate and regularly updated
Maintain detailed records on donors, prospective donors, proposal submissions, approvals and requirements, and funding communications in the Raisers Edge database NXT CRM and other internal systems
Prepare and mail acknowledgement letters to funders
Collaborate with staff in Development, Inventory, Finance and Programs Departments to execute Utah Food Bank initiatives
Conduct tours of Utah Food Banks Salt Lake City warehouse
Attend and assist with special events
Intentionally promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to build a positive work culture and environment
Other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in applicable field plus 1 year of research/writing/experience in the non-profit sector OR 4 years of directly related professional experience
Excellent writing, communication and organization skills
Facility with data, spreadsheets, and research
Strong time management skills
Able to plan, manage, delegate and follow-through on multiple projects
Very strong teamwork skills and experience working in team environment
Windows and MS Office experience
Proficient in database usage and data analytics, Raisers Edge NXT preferred
Ability to maintain confidentiality of donors and other protected information
Flexible, organized, friendly and professional
High standard of professional ethics
Physical Requirements:
The work is mainly sedentary. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. During peak seasons, all UFB staff may be asked to assist with receiving donations, picking up donations or other customer service work outside the normal scope of duties.
