The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking applicants for a Construction Surveillance Technician with an active Government Security Clearance, to support construction activities at our North Logan, Utah campus. The chosen applicant will work closely with the SDL Site Security Coordinator to meet Security objectives for numerous construction projects.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Accomplish opening and closing procedures for the construction site as directed by the Security Coordinator
- Provide daily escort for construction workers
- Identify anomalies and variances in construction work performed in accordance with the approved construction plans
- Inspect all construction materials, packages, boxes, crates, and vehicles entering the construction site for prohibited items
- Assist with access control at personnel and facility entry/exit doors
- Conduct random inspections of site areas and deny the introduction of prohibited materials or items as outlined in the Construction Security Plan
- Generate daily logs of construction activities and incident reports
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Must be a US citizen
- Must hold an Active US Government Security Clearance
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work independently to identify, assess, and report unique security situations with innovative solutions geared to facilitate contract performance within the bounds of security requirements
- Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on clear and cogent presentation of complex information
- Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions
- Must have a professional demeanor, good people skills, ability to communicate effectively, and be able to perform in a multi-task, dynamic environment
- Demonstrated attention to detail in a large, complex environment
- Ability to handle sensitive information
- General understanding of construction practices
- This position may require lifting (up to 20 lbs.), standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday
- Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of functions
- Ability to walk across uneven surfaces of a construction site, frequently go up and down stairs, and walk long distances
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working ICD-705 construction projects, including escorting construction personnel and verification of building requirements

- $43,000-$68,000
- Base salary commensurate on highest level of education and years of directly related work experience
