Utah Valley Refugees Employment Volunteer
The Employment Volunteer will work closely with and report to the case managers. This position manages employment activities with refugee clients and will perform employment related activities to help refugee clients find jobs and help them towards the goal of self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assesses experience, skills and limitations of refugee clients and helps create resumes for clients.
- Identifies job opportunities suitable for refugee clients.
- Identify and work with targeted businesses and industry to develop potential worksites and employment opportunities for clients.
- Monitors and tracks success following placement.
- Assists clients in filling out employment applications, sets up interviews with potential employers, accompanies clients to interviews or arranges transportation.
- Follows up with employers regarding job placement status.
- Develops and implements strategies for worksite development, skills training, recruitment, referral and coordination of employment and training components for clients.
- Fosters strong working relationships with businesses, community based organizations, and partner agencies.
- Provides consistent communication with partner agencies to ensure coordination of services and development of job placement opportunities.
- Transports clients to appointments and / or trainings or readiness programs as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned
