Our mission is supported by a complex financial model with revenue from membership dues, sponsorship dollars, multiple private and public grant programs, state contracts, and fee-for -service revenue. Compliance with all relevant standards is absolutely essential to both maintain the trust of our many stakeholders and uphold our nonprofit status. As such, the strongest possible financial reporting and controls and highly effective internal administration.

Work You Will Do

As the Finance Manager you will be part of the finance and administration team whose responsibility is to protect and maintain the public trust of the organization. Your specific responsibilities will include :

  • Manage and execute all financial functions, including fixed-asset management, not-for-profit accounting, budgeting, and reporting requirements.
  • Provide effective, practical financial oversight of multiple revenue streams with varying compliance requirements through monitoring and optimizing recently implemented organization-wide internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage and oversee the contract and grant administration processes from state and federal funding by providing review and guidance on compliance issues, assist with the annual applications, prepare and review quarterly reports, and manage financial reporting in accordance with applicable contract terms, laws and regulations.
  • Manage all accounting functions for the organization, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Oversee cashflow, cash management, working capital and company audits.
  • Prepare financial statements and budgeting and reforecasts on a regular basis (monthly, quarterly, and annually), and as needed.
  • Mentor and train the cross-functional team to ensure cooperation and communication between departments.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers, including management of third-party consultants, such as insurance brokers, payroll providers, and IT support services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have either a master's degree in accounting or finance, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), or other graduate degree in a similar field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience managing the accounting functions of a $5 million or larger organization (nonprofit experience preferred).
  • Experience working with accounting systems and electronic billing (must be proficient in QuickBooks, Word, and Excel).
  • Experience navigating financial reporting, budgeting, systems integration, and strategic financial planning and analysis.
  • Proven management experience, with a strong desire to develop staff.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail and desire to lead with accuracy and integrity.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to work under stressful timelines.
  • Demonstrate experience in developing budgets, financial analysis, managing audits, and preparing financial statements.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and think strategically and work with multiple online tools (Salesforce, Microsoft Suite, etc.).
  • Have strong interpersonal skills, be able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Who you will report to

  • You will report directly to the CEO of WTC Utah who will set organizational goals and direct the overall strategy of the department.
  • WTC Utah's Finance and Audit Committee, comprised of board members, will provide oversight for the finance team's work.
  • Your success will be measured based on your ability to professionally deliver quality financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance across the team.
