Job Description
This role will be a non-tenure track position focused on theranostic research. This position will be developing and extending our radiochemistry research and production efforts to support not only our research and clinical trials needs in the hospital but to also provide collaborative support to ORNL and UTH as work in radionuclides in this region develops. This position will play a critical role in developing and maintaining those regional radiochemistry partnerships and collaborations.
Responsibilities
This position is expected to secondarily supervise undergraduate and graduate students that may rotate through our lab spaces.
The position will be 90% research, 5% teaching, and 5% service/outreach. Where teaching is focused on undergraduate and graduate education as well as providing our radiology residents with radiochemistry education and hands on experiences. The 5% outreach and service is focused on developing cross campus collaborations with our partners at UTK and ORNL. It is expected that this position achieve extramural funding as part of annual evaluations with a heavy focus on collaborative initiatives.

Qualifications
- PhD in chemistry with a focus on organometallic chemistry and methodologies.
- Willing to obtain radiochemistry certifications and undergo specialized human radiochemistry production training.
- With the future focus being on novel metal chelation with proteins and small molecules, a PhD in chemistry with a focus on organometallic chemistry is needed.
- The successful candidate will have a wide range of experience in clinical production processes and regulations from SOP development to management of batch records and quality control records.
- The candidate should have knowledge of automated synthesis systems as well as protein radiolabeling experience. Experience with USP 823 quality control standards is a must as well as skills with analytical HPLC and GC instrumentation for determining safety of manufactured products.
