What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Assistant for Football (5 months) position at Utica University?
Assist Head Coach with various facets of a varsity and JV sports program including varsity offensive line or tight ends coaching, travel coordinator and helps maintain the football social media account. The assistant athletic instructor holds weekly academic mentor meetings with student athletes, attends all training camp practices and meetings and primarily attends practices and games. The expected length of assignment is August through December.

A. Instruction of physical health, team concepts and safety (50% or more).
B. Responsible for the designing instructions for individual student-athletes (varsity running backs or tight ends) and for team needs.
C. Plans and runs daily varsity practice sessions within the broader football practice to ensure players are organized and prepared.
D. Provides leadership to ensure that student-athletes have a positive experience and are active and engaged throughout an entire practice.
E. Practice and opponent film video breakdown during the week as well as opponent film breakdown on Sundays.
F. Run offensive scout team at practice, draw cards and hold meetings to prepare scout offensive accordingly.
G. Assist in with our In-Season Strength and Conditioning Program.
H. Assist Head Football Coach in fund raising activities.
I. Help maintain and administer the Utica University Football email account.
J. May assist in driving for road trips (not required), if so would need to meet the following requirements: Must maintain a clean driving record as defined by University insurance carrier guidelines. Motor vehicle record will be monitored regularly using NYS License Event Notification Service or License Monitor, Inc. for out of state licenses. Will be required to attend van training annually.
K. May perform other related duties as assigned.

Travel Supervises Education & Experience Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 1-2 years collegiate or high school coaching experience preferred or relevant high school or collegiate playing experience.
Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
