We are seeking an experienced, local Safety Coordinator for the PNW region with a strong background in construction within the telecommunications industry.
The ideal candidate will specialize in OSHA compliance, hazard mitigation, and safety training while promoting a culture of safety across job sites.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, communicate, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations;
- Investigate accidents and injuries, recommend and/or coordinate corrective actions with the Safety Manager;
- Develop and implement safety training programs to educate employees on general safe work practices and specific hazards unique to job assignments, including training for new employees;
- Maintain a thorough understanding of federal and state OSHA regulations and safety codes, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of safety standards;
- Identify potential safety hazards at all facilities, report hazards and recommend solutions for elimination or reduction to the Safety Manager;
- Encourage employees and supervisors to report unsafe conditions immediately and coordinate repairs as necessary;
- Promote the immediate reporting of all injuries, no matter how minor, and ensure proper documentation;
- Review Foreman toolbox talks to ensure they are current and relevant;
- Prepare and maintain required safety reports;
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Valid, unrestricted Driver's License;
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience;
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards;
- Ability to travel 70-90% of the time (short-duration trips);
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of management;
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and skilled at prioritizing and managing workflow;
- Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to changing priorities;
- Sound judgment and the ability to make timely, informed decisions;
- Comprehensive understanding of safety requirements and protocols;
- Proven ability to present information clearly and handle inquiries effectively;
- Demonstrated competence in managing and responding to emergencies;
- Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, Fall Prevention, Manhole Safety.
