Utility Contracting Co. is an outside plant telecommunications construction contractor based out of Sparta Michigan. We provide construction services that include: Vacuum excavation, Locating, Fiber splicing, Aerial placing/wrecking, Directional drilling, Plowing, and much more. Utility Contracting is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant who is interested in building a long-term career in the Telecommunications industry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Answering phones, sorting and distributing mail/deliveries
- Maintaining and updating job files, forms, and logs
- Printing off drawings and scanning As-Builts
- Facilitating certificates of insurance for projects
- Setting up and managing electronic drawing software
- Requesting MISS DIGs
- Managing MISS DIG tickets
- Processing material transfers
- Sending out job number communications, job cost, and hours reports
- Performing other administrative duties as needed
- Working with Supervisor and customers to complete invoices
Qualifications:
- One or more years of administrative experience preferably in the construction industry
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Proficient with smartphones and apps
