We are currently seeking an experienced Truck Driver / Lowboy Operator to join our Utility Lines Construction Services, Inc. team. Our office headquarters is located in Dundalk, MD.

Our company performs work from North Carolina to Delaware. As part of the support team for our many crews you will be responsible for loading, hauling and delivering materials, equipment and supplies to and from our construction yards located in Dundalk, MD and Richmond, Virginia. Many of our projects are within daily driving distance of our headquarters in Dundalk, MD. If overnight stay is required, hotel and meals will be paid by the company. Our Truck Driver / Lowboy Operator must have a valid class A Commercial Driver’s License in good standing. Experienced equipment operators and familiarity with DOT haul permits, routes and regulations a must. Applicants possessing an NCCCO certification will be given first choice. Compensation is based upon experience. Average work week is four 10-hour days. Overtime is on an as needed basis for the projects we are supporting.
Essential Functions:
- Experienced Lowboy operator with knowledge of loading and unloading operations.
- Operates equipment for loading and unloading including but not limited to cranes, boom trucks, knuckle booms, bull dozers, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, forklifts and other type of construction equipment.
- Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
- Works around hazardous equipment
- Works near energized parts or equipment.
- Exposed to traffic and may be required to have training on traffic flagging.
- Works around excessive noise from machines (backhoe, trencher, mini excavator, digger derricks, knuckle boom, jackhammers, and other equipment)
- Employee can be exposed to hot and cold environments, poisonous plants or reptiles, and stinging insects.
- Occasionally able to work nights, weekends and holidays for extended periods; may be required to perform duties as part of recovery force during emergencies and disasters.
- All other duties as requested by Supervisors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and the requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
- Must be experienced in Lowboy Tractor Trailer operations and miscellaneous construction equipment.
- Must be able to operate the various types of equipment that will need to be hauled as well as general mechanical knowledge and ability to us basic hand tools for the work (various manual devices, wrenches, hammers, come a long, etc.)
- Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight (8) or ten (10) hour day according to the schedule.
- Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call out work.
- Must be able to wear PPE as necessary.
- Must be able to maintain attention during dangerous tasks.
- Must have a valid class A CDL Driver’s license and medical DOT card.
- Must pass a background check and pass a motor vehicle records check.
