The scheduled shift for this position is M - F, 11pm – 7:30am.

As the Custodial Supervisor, you will lead a dynamic team of 10-15 frontline staff members, dedicated to ensuring our university academic areas remain a beacon of cleanliness, health, and vibrancy. Your mission is to uphold the highest standards of custodial service through effective team supervision, meticulous scheduling, and comprehensive training. Key to success is your ability to forge positive, professional relationships across the campus community, including with facility occupants, staff, colleagues, students, visitors, and leadership. You'll be at the heart of ensuring our learning environments are not only maintained to the highest standards but also reflect our commitment to development, excellence, and respect.

Responsibilities Include
- Leadership & Team Management: Guide, mentor, and inspire your team towards achieving and exceeding departmental expectations through effective supervision, coaching, and performance management.
- Operational Excellence & Collaboration: Oversee the scheduling and execution of routine and special custodial tasks, ensuring operations are safe, efficient, and meet the highest standards. Collaborate closely with maintenance leadership to coordinate activities and ensure a seamless operational environment.
- Training & Development: Lead training initiatives to ensure the team is proficient in the latest custodial techniques and safety protocols, fostering professional growth and skill enhancement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain positive, professional relationships with all stakeholders, including facility occupants, staff, colleagues, students, visitors, and department leadership, ensuring custodial services align with university community needs.
- Project Management & Additional Responsibilities: Manage small to medium-sized custodial projects, ensuring timely, within-scope, and budget-compliant completion while working closely with maintenance leadership to ensure a unified approach to facility management.
- Develop and implement custodial work schedules for assigned areas. Maintain written records of work scheduled and completed.
- Supervise members of custodial team and provide them with frequent and constructive feedback.
- Ensure all required custodial projects are completed in a timely, professional manner.
- Track purchases and update inventories.
- Conduct and submit routine safety and cleanliness inspections.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive with managing workload, and anticipate operational/small-scale projects.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in a service industry is required, preferably custodial/housekeeping. Experience in custodial maintenance, including the ability to demonstrate use of cleaning equipment and supplies, along with experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is a plus.
- Licensure: A valid driver's license, with a zero or positive points balance and at least 2 years of driving experience.
