What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Management Specialist, Intermediate position at UVA Medical Center?
Manages the operational aspects of ongoing IT application implementations and other organizational projects under minimal supervision. May assist senior project managers on larger or more complex projects. Serves as a liaison between project management team and stakeholders. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares reports. Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet multiple Health System goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with managers clients vendors etc. Manages all phases of project management activities; able to define plan and implement specific business objectives. Utilizes MS Suite of tools to manage and report on project completion. Utilizes Project Management Software such as MS Project to manage projects and project plans. Approaches problems analytically and implements solutions that work to meet project goals and budgets Provides guidance and support to staff and/or management on complex problems or challenges. Manages and facilitates meetings being sensitive to timelines by ensuring all meetings are efficient and meaningful. Manages project teams and maintains project momentum; managing schedules budgets and preparing reports. Manages vendors to affect completion of required tasks and compliance with contract timeframes and deliverables. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Expected to typically manage projects up to a level that qualify as: Size: Medium - Large Change: Medium - Large Complexity: Normal - Complex Visibility: Medium - Large Position Compensation Range: $74,900.80 - $119,849.60 Annual MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with all aspects of the Project Management Life Cycle; 2 years of Data Gathering and Business Analysis. Healthcare industry experience preferred. Information Technology experience preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Licensure: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires sitting for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull <= 20lbs, freely travel, and climb stairs.
