What are the responsibilities and job description for the BMET Service Engineer - Clinical Engineering position at UVM Health Network - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital?
GENERAL SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the repair, PM, QA, installation, modification and technical advice for all Radiologic, Laboratory, MRI, Ultrasound equipment, as well as other clinical and non-clinical equipment as assigned by the Manager of Clinical Engineering. This position is also responsible for implementation and maintaining the Medical Equipment Management Plan in accordance with JCAHO requirements.QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Skills Required:1.Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or related degree required.2.Must possess valid New York State driver's license and be insurable.3.5 years experience as a BMET, or 5 years prior radiology-related experience required.4.Strong troubleshooting and electronic skills required.5.Strong organizational and communication skills required. As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
