JOB TITLE:
Information Specialist, Jr.
JOB PURPOSE:
Support the financial aid systems team within the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in conducting specialized inquiries resulting in organization, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of information pertinent to project/data issues in administrative planning, decision-making, research objectives, and pertinent regulations.
- Participate in the development, maintenance, and usage of consistent and accurate longitudinal databases and systems.
- Create and/or respond to structured inquiries using basic Structured Query Language (SQL) code, including ad-hoc requests for information, the development of standardized reports, questionnaires, and surveys.
- Provide statistical or analytical consultation to the department and other departments.
- Participate in the review, revision and automation of office procedures; perform data verification.
- Use flowcharts and other logical methodologies to diagram business processes.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Read and understand system documentation.
- Assist in the review of internal process documentation.
- Assists other areas in the office during high demand times.
- Other related duties as assigned.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Experience: 1 year progressively responsible work and/or project-related experience
Pass required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other Computer Related Fields.
- Basic knowledge in Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Excel, including basic usage of Pivot Tables and Formulas.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.
