POSITION SUMMARY
The UW Health Care Direct Patient Support Associate is the first contact for most referral sources,
patients and caregivers calling into our organization. This position is responsible for assisting callers and
acting as a communication liaison between the caller and our team members. They also provide
operational support to all UWHCD service lines to a varying degree.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: N/A
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: Customer service experience preferred
Miscellaneous: Effective communication and basic computer skills essential
Must possess the ability to present oneself in a professional manner.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills required.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answers multi-line telephone and assist callers
- Fulfill a caller’s request by providing information, creating an order, or appropriately transferring
their call.
- Acts as a communication liaison between the caller and our team members, and internally by
directing emails to the appropriate team
- Participate in our HME Fax Wrangling process, which includes moving files into Brightree, creating
accounts, indexing documents, and creating generic sales orders or notes
- Index on call HME documents and create generic sales orders
- Responsible for staying informed of updates and implementing those changes in the workflow
- Provides basic team related training to new staff and peers
- Performs other duties as assigned
