Required
Master's Degree in Psychology or relevant area required. Demonstrated expertise in area of specialization.
Preferred
PhD
Qualifications:
At least one year of experience teaching in higher education, preferably at a large enrollment institution. Strong background in research is required. Ideal candidate will also have experience teaching Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods (writing intensive), as well as a specialty area course. Preference will be given to candidates with the flexibility to teach across the curriculum. Other courses may include child development, primate behavior, as well as courses in career exploration.
Candidates should have excellent teaching, interpersonal, teamwork, written and oral communication skills, as well as keen attention to detail and precision, excellent organizational skills, ability to work and complete tasks under deadline pressures, high degree of initiative and resourcefulness, and proven success and effectiveness in working both independently and in teams.

Full or Part Time: 33.4% - 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Appointment Type, Duration:
Terminal, 4 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding
Salary:
Minimum $50,000 ACADEMIC (9 months)

There is a possibility this position can be extended in subsequent semesters to teach one or more of the courses listed on this PVL, or similar courses within the department. This position may become renewable if there is a need for an ongoing appointment.

- Psychology 202 - "Introduction to Psychology" Behavior, including its development, motivation, frustrations, emotion, intelligence, learning, forgetting, personality, language, thinking, and social behavior.
- Psych 210- "Basic Statistics for Psychology": Measures of Central Tendency, variability, probability, sampling distributions, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, t-tests, chi-square, regression and correlation (linear), and introduction to analysis of variance (one-way).
- Psychology 601 - "Current Topics in Psychology": Special topics in Psychology at the advanced undergraduate level. Prepare/present lectures, lead discussion sections. Prepare, administer and grade exams. Hold office hours. Psychology 601 is considered a Senior Capstone course. Prefer topics in the area of Industrial/Organizational Psychology. This course meets twice per week for 75 minutes.
- 35% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
- 55% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- 10% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
