Position Overview:
The Product Application Specialist plays a pivotal role in testing, evaluating, and improving flooring products during the R&D process. This includes performing hands-on testing of new formulations, providing installer-focused feedback, and ensuring compatibility of products across flooring systems. This role will interact closely with cross-functional teams, support training initiatives, and ensure a seamless transition of prototype products into the market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Test product formulations, providing detailed feedback on workability and application performance.
- Collaborate with R&D to define test methods and ensure consistency with ASTM and industry standards.
- Evaluate product compatibility with flooring systems, supporting field specifications.
- Document testing results, identify concerns, and recommend improvements.
- Conduct internal and external training sessions on product application techniques and new technologies.
- Maintain the testing environment, ensuring cleanliness, equipment readiness, and efficiency.
- Organize and support on-site product testing and installations at customer project sites.
- Stay current on industry technologies and standards, contributing to continuous innovation.
Qualifications:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years of hands-on flooring installation, including subfloor preparation.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze test results to support R&D goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and globally.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams while independently managing tasks.
