Job Summary
The Import Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and facilitating the importation of goods into the country. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can navigate complex logistics and ensure compliance with all regulations. The Import Specialist will work closely with suppliers, customs brokers, and internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency in the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Work with Importers and U.S. Customs to prepare, transmit, clear, examine, and deliver international cargo arriving into the U.S.
- Work with airlines, steamship lines, truck lines to facilitate shipment movement into the U.S.
- Work with Participating Government Agencies such as FDA, FCC, DOT, F&W, EPA, etc. to clear cargo arriving into the U.S.
- Ensure adherence to customer SOP’s, agency regulations, and V. Alexander company standards
- Enter, upload, or compile shipment importation and commercial invoice data into in house software for transmission to U.S. Customs
- Preliminary Entry Summary auditing
- Partner with client on U.S. Customs entry requirements
- Other duties and projects as assigned

Education and Training Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field a plus
- Customs Brokers License a plus
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) a plus
