Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to manage vendor invoices, payments, and financial records in our pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions while maintaining compliance with healthcare and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, verify, and reconcile vendor invoices related to pharmaceutical supplies, medications, and operational expenses.
- Ensure accurate coding of invoices to the appropriate accounts.
- Monitor payment schedules to ensure timely payments and avoid late fees.
- Reconcile statements from pharmaceutical suppliers and vendors.
- Resolve discrepancies and disputes related to payments, invoices, and purchase orders.
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audits.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare, tax, and financial regulations.
- Work closely with the Pharmacy team to track pharmaceutical purchases.
- Process electronic and check payments while maintaining secure financial practices.
Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable (preferably in the pharmacy, healthcare, or retail industry).
- Proficiency in accounting software, QuickBooks.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Understanding of pharmaceutical purchasing, vendor management, and inventory reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in pharmacy, healthcare, or retail accounting.
- Knowledge of insurance reimbursements and pharmacy purchasing regulations.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., Pioneer Rx, Liberty Software, McKesson).
