Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will manage multiple functions and operations of the department, ensuring compliance with governmental rules and regulations. The Finance Manager is responsible for monthly financial close processes and reporting. They will also evaluate accounting processes and systems and implement optimizations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to the leadership team
- Oversee and direct all day-to-day accounting activities
- Supervise the functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash management.
- Create management reports from different angles to dissect business performance.
- Ensure a basic internal control process is in place to avoid loss of revenue, assets, and risks.
- Assist with Financial Audits
- Ensures all financial operations comply with governmental rules and regulations.
- Identify new metrics to drive business performance relative to strategic priorities while minimizing risk.
- Drive value within the business through margin enhancement, lowering costs, and driving operational efficiencies.
- Support project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests
- Provide insight on spending trends cost-savings initiatives and margin opportunities
- Participate in financial standards setting and forecasting.
- Provide insight into business performance against competitors and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5 years of finance experience, or master’s degree and 3 years of finance experience
- CPA is a MUST
- Previous experience working in Logistics industry is highly preferred
- Experience working in QuickBooks preferred
- Advanced analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Experience working in logistics is preferred
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software, and databases
- Strong commitment to the accuracy of reports
- Have a problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team.
- Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills in verbal and written.
- Ability to identify incomplete or inaccurate data, identify the root cause, and create/implement an escalation plan experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
