Position Overview:
We are experiencing growth and require additional accounting support! The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Controller and will be based out of our Canton, OH facility. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related business field, along with 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a proactive attitude, be open to learning, and have the ability to grow into more complex responsibilities. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will be expected to collaborate with other departments across the organization.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience in managing accounting for multiple business units and manufacturing environments is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General Ledger:
- Assist with the month-end closing process and preparation of closing books.
- Manage Work in Progress (WIP) and inventory, including standard cost calculations.
- Oversee Fixed Asset and Construction in Progress (CIP) management.
- Experience with ASC/IFRS is a plus, but not required.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Review and reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts monthly.
- Conduct income statement analysis.
- Prepare various monthly and quarterly internal KPI reports and analysis.
- Manage sales and CAT tax reporting.
- Provide support for internal and external audits.
- Oversee database/form management.
- Perform other GL-related duties and projects as assigned.
Accounts Payable:
- Review payment runs for accuracy and ensure appropriate approvals.
- Maintain and manage the vendor database.
- Track freight and galvanizing costs.
- Oversee W9 and 1099 reporting.
- Provide cross-training to serve as a backup.
- Handle other AP-related projects as needed.
Accounts Receivable/Credit Management:
- Manage customer credit assessments and related processes.
- Maintain and manage the customer database.
- Track PP&A freight.
- Prepare and track invoiced sales reports.
- Support sales teams by tracking customer orders.
- Prepare lien waivers as needed.
- Manage intercompany and intergroup accounts receivable.
- Provide cross-training to serve as a backup.
- Perform other AR-related duties and projects as required.
