Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all day to day operations across all departments: sales, finance, parts, service, and warranty
- Develop and implement dealership-wide processes and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency, and ensure personnel are adequately trained to carry them out consistently
- Manage full dealership P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and revenue growth
- Track, analyze, and act on key performance metrics across departments to drive profitability
- Hire, train, lead, and retain department managers and support staff to maintain their high performance culture
- Set department goals, hold managers accountable to operational standards, and mentor and develop them as professionals
- Ensure that the expectation of their award winning customer experience is consistently delivered across all touchpoints
- Work closely with the dealer principal to align on business strategy and long-term goals
- Drive new business development and local marketing initiatives to increase market share
- Manage vendor relationships, including OEMs, lenders, aftermarket suppliers, and service providers
- Review and approve major purchases, vendor contracts, and capital improvements
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee inventory management for RVs, boats, and parts, including ordering, pricing, and turnover targets
- Develop and enforce policies related to customer service, safety, and employee conduct
- Lead weekly leadership meetings and provide regular performance updates to ownership
- Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment that promotes growth and professional development for all personnel
- Handle customer escalations and resolve high-level service or sales issues as needed
- Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity
- Champion dealership reputation management through positive customer engagement and online presence
- Establish and maintain a strong culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Manager at an RV dealership, with a strong, and demonstrable track record of performance
- Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Proven ability to develop and implement scalable processes across all departments
- Strong financial and business acumen, including full P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Experience leading and developing cross-functional teams with a hands-on, results-oriented leadership style
- Comfortable working directly with ownership and contributing to high-level business strategy
- Deep knowledge of RV systems, dealership operations, and regulatory considerations.
- Proven ability to manage and cultivate vendor relationships, including OEMs, lenders, and suppliers, with a demonstrated track record of negotiating favorable terms, programs, and partnerships that benefit the dealership’s bottom line
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Marine dealership experience or familiarity is a plus, though not required
- Technologically inclined, with proficiency in DMS, CRM platforms, and reporting tools
