An Air Traffic Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations of an air traffic control facility, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of aircraft by coordinating with air traffic controllers, monitoring airspace conditions, and implementing strategies to manage traffic congestion, all while adhering to FAA regulations and maintaining high standards of safety; essentially acting as a supervisor and leader within an air traffic control center, making critical decisions to optimize airspace utilization and maintain smooth operations.

This position is contingent based on contract award.

Responsibilities
Major Job Activities :
- Supervising air traffic controllers : Assigning tasks to controllers, providing guidance and feedback, and ensuring proper staffing levels to manage traffic effectively.
- Airspace management : Monitoring airspace conditions, identifying potential conflicts, and implementing traffic flow management strategies to prevent delays and maintain separation between aircraft.
- Operational planning : Reviewing weather forecasts, coordinating with other air traffic control facilities, and adapting procedures to address changing conditions.
- Incident response : Taking immediate action to address emergencies or unexpected situations, coordinating with relevant authorities to ensure safety.
- Training and development : Overseeing the training and evaluation of air traffic controllers within their facility, ensuring competency and adherence to standards.
- Performance monitoring : Analyzing data on traffic flow, delays, and controller performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Communication and coordination : Maintaining clear communication with pilots, other air traffic control facilities, and relevant stakeholders.
- Compliance with regulations : Ensuring adherence to FAA regulations and procedures related to air traffic control.
