POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst with ERP experience to provide ongoing support and optimization. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting and optimizing the ERP systems to ensure that they meet evolving business needs. ERP systems include Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Tungsten AP Essentials (Cloud Capture), Infor OS and Infor Sun.
Organizationally, the position will report directly to the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, with functional alignment and global project support to IT, Supply Chain, and Operations. The position will be based in Vaalco Energy, Inc.’s corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas USA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ERP System Support
- Support and manage EAM functionalities, ensuring that the system is effectively utilized for budget to pay and maintenance processes.
- Support and manage the Infor platform (Infor OS, Infor SunSystems), ensuring smooth integration with other systems, workflow automation, and efficient use of mobile apps.
- Provide first-level support to end users in resolving system issues, troubleshooting errors, and ensuring smooth operation.
- Manage/coordinate second-level support with external System Partner.
ERP User Training and Documentation
- Facilitate training sessions for end users to maximize the effective use of ERP systems.
- Develop and update user manuals, FAQs, and other documentation.
Change Control Management
- Assist in the management and execution of change control processes for system related modifications. Ensure that any system changes, updates, or enhancements follow a formal approval process, including impact assessments, testing, documentation, and change management committee signoffs.
- Coordinate regular system testing for new modules, features, and updates. Help ensure a smooth rollout of system upgrades and patches.
Data Integrity & Security
- Ensure data integrity and security within ERP systems by producing regular audit reports for review and compliance verification in accordance with company policies.
Access Management & Security
- Manage user access controls and security protocols for the ERP systems, including setting up and maintaining user roles, permissions, and access levels. Ensure compliance with company security policies and protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
Collaborate with internal business functions & ERP vendors
- Partner with IT and external ERP vendors for escalated issues, system updates, and patches.
- Coordinate with internal departments for system improvements.
Reporting & Analytics
- Assist in the development and generation of system reports and dashboards, helping stakeholders access real-time data and insights.
Integration Error Checking & Resolution
- Monitor and resolve integration errors.
System & Process Improvement
- Lead efforts to streamline and automate data management processes, reducing manual interventions and errors.
- Work with IT and business systems teams to optimize master data management functionalities within ERP systems.
- Support the integration of master data in M&A activities or system upgrades.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and propose enhancements that align with evolving business requirements.
Data Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to data governance frameworks and ensure master data management processes align with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Support internal and external audits.
EDUCATION & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ERP systems support. Background in Hexagon EAM (formerly Infor EAM) and Infor OS environments is ideal. Experience with similar Material Management systems (e.g., Maximo, SAP) acceptable.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient with ERP software and knowledgeable in system configurations, workflows, and integrations. Experience with Hexagon EAM, Infor OS (including Infor ION, Infor Go, Infor Data Lake) is ideal.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to analyze complex system issues and identify effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines
- Quick learner; customer service oriented; organized and dependable
- Experience in support for ERP systems, particularly with Hexagon EAM and Infor OS within an oil and gas Exploration and Production company.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tools, preferably SharePoint and Power BI.
- Basic understanding of Cognos reporting and SQL language for report development.
- Knowledge of supply chain, finance, accounts payable and/or asset management processes within an ERP system.
- Fluent in English (Written and Spoken)
- Ability to travel to international locations on an as-needed basis (vaccinations may be required)
