Role: Junior Accountant (Temporary to Permanent) - *Can start immediately!
Pay Rate: $23 - $25/hr - $55,000/annually Benefits when going permanent!
Location: Newark, New Jersey (3-days a week)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in various accounting functions, supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices, including data entry, matching invoices to purchase orders, and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Prepare and process vendor payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Accounts Receivable:
- Prepare and send customer invoices.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
- Apply customer payments to accounts.
- General Ledger:
- Assist with journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain supporting documentation for all accounting transactions.
- Bank Reconciliations:
- Reconcile bank statements to company records.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Other duties as assigned:
- Assist with special projects as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Adhere to all accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
- 1 years of experience in an accounting role
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP)

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
