Job Title: Junior Accountant
Job Summary:Our client, a respected CPA firm, is seeking a Junior Accountant to support their accounting and tax operations. This role is ideal for an entry-level accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, tax preparation, and auditing within a fast-paced public accounting environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and proficient in accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Support tax preparation by gathering client financial data and assisting with individual and business tax returns.
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy.
- Work closely with senior accountants on month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Conduct basic audits and compliance reviews, preparing necessary documentation for clients.
- Utilize accounting software (QuickBooks, CCH Axcess, UltraTax, or similar) to manage financial records.
- Maintain strong client communication, assisting with inquiries and document requests.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or working towards CPA certification).
- 1 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting or CPA firm.
- Knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs), and accounting software is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

- the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
