Special Projects Accountant

Job Summary:
Vaco is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Special Projects Accountant to join our clients' fantastic accounting team. This dynamic role focuses on supporting the Accounting Department through accounting research, ad hoc process improvement initiatives, and the successful execution of special projects. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver with a passion for innovation, a strong technical background in accounting, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth accounting research to ensure compliance with evolving standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional projects to improve and streamline accounting processes and workflows.
• Collaborate with various departments to identify areas for efficiency improvements and develop actionable solutions.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting policies, systems, and tools.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the accounting team during audits, reconciliations, or complex transactions.
• Develop documentation and training materials to standardize and sustain process improvements.
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience: 3 years of accounting experience, with exposure to process improvement or project-based roles. Experience working with a Big4 firm preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
