Staff Accountant

Vaco is hiring a Staff Accountant in Jacksonville, FL. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit.

• Perform core accounting functions, including posting Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closings, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide leadership with actionable insights.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support business decision-making.
• Work with various accounting systems and maintain Excel spreadsheets for reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and financial projects.
• Prepare financial documents such as business reports, forecasts, and financial statements to assess the company's financial health.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory financial requirements to maintain strong financial standing.
• Take initiative to improve financial processes and contribute to broader financial strategies.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (accounting required).
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and month-end close processes.
• Experience with General Ledger systems.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or other ERP/accounting systems preferred.
• Ability to work onsite in the Jacksonville office.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: 70,000-80,000. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
