About us
Vail Ranch Veterinary Hospital has been established in the Temecula community for the past 30 years.
We are a family owned, private small animal practice providing high quality compassionate care for our clients and their pets.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, cystocentesis and dental cleanings
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals during procedures and treatments
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist with surgical procedures, including prepping animals, monitoring anesthesia, and post-operative care
- Conduct laboratory tests, such as blood work
- Knowledge of digital X-ray technique and positioning
- Provide basic grooming services to animals, including bathing, ear cleaning, anal gland expression and nail trims
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and client communication
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Veterinary Technician Certification (VTNE) preferred but not required
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and proper handling of medical instruments
- Familiarity with basic animal handling techniques (fear free is a plus)
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and sample processing
- Ability to perform X-rays, IV catheter placement, vaccinations, venipuncture, cystocentesis and dental prophylaxis
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (knowledge of Cornerstone a plus)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
