Lead Pastry Cook - Winter 2014/15 Seasonal - Full Time - The Arrabelle, a RockResort - Vail, CO
The Arrabelle is a luxury Vail hotel ideally located in the heart of the much-acclaimed Vail Square. Nestled against the base of North America's #1 ski resort, just footsteps from the Eagle Bahn gondola, The Arrabelle at Vail Square was inspired by the classic grand alpine hotels of Europe. Hotel amenities include 62 luxury hotel rooms and suites, Tavern on the Square, a European-style pub with indoor and outdoor dining, RockResorts Spa® and fitness center.
The Lead Pastry Cook works with and assists the Pastry Chef in preparing pastry items, including pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, mousses, custards, simple syrups and jams in accordance with established recipes and customer service standards. Also assists in production of desserts for special events, banquets and amenities including wedding cakes andcreative pastry displays. They must effectively communicate with the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef regarding menu items and other issues in the kitchen. The Lead Pastry Cook must follow established recipes and plating guides and must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Vail Resorts.
This is a Winter Seasonal position and will start the first week of November 2014.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. -required
- 2-3 years culinary experience -required
- Pastry experience. required
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English. -required
- Ability to read and effectively present detailed information both verbally and in written form to managers and employees. -required
- Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours. -required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. -required
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays. -required
