Snowcat Operator - All Experience Levels - Full Time, Winter Seasonal - Beaver Creek, CO

There are three levels of operators: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Starting pay, job duties, and assignments will depend on experience.
The Snowcat Operator/Groomer will prepare and maintain a skiing surface for skiers of all abilities as well as fulfill the hauling and dozing needs of other VRI departments. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the safety of fellow employees, and guests, and for personal safety
- High safety responsibility and sensibility to maintain a safe snowcat operation
- Maintain mountain skiing surfaces to finest level possible
- Ability to learn how to operate all VRI Slope Grooming equipment and basic mountain operations
- Safe operation of a turbo-charged diesel powered over the snow vehicle with hydrostatic drives, 12 way dozer blade, and multi function roto tiller rear implements
- Minimize down time through basic preventative maintenance, cleanliness and up-keep of machine
- Manual labor in other Slopes and Trails work
- Maintain good working relationship and communicate work instructions with co-workers
- Receive daily working instructions from Foremen and Supervisor
- Daily, as needed, communication with shop Mechanics concerning mechanical problems
- Other duties as assigned
Wage: Starting at $10.25/hour for Entry Level position
Schedule: Evening Shift 4:00PM-12:30AM 5 eight hour shifts per week. Morning Shift 12:00AM-10-30AM 4 ten hour shifts per week
Entry Level Snowcat Operator Qualifications:

Valid driver's license with no restrictions - required
- Satisfactory MVR check - required
- Must be at least 18 years of age - required
- High school diploma or equivalent - required
- Able to lift up to 100 lbs - required
- Must be able to read, write, speak, comprehend and understand English fluently - required
- Able to climb on and off the vehicles frequently - required
- Able to sit for extended periods of time while driving the snowcat - required
- Able to use two-way radios (both speaking and hearing instructions) - required
- End of season commitment required (April 2015) - required
- In person interview - preferred
- Mechanical or equipment operation background and experience with diesel engine/hydraulic machines - preferred
- Ski area experience - preferred
- At least 1 season of Snowcat operation - preferred
Intermediate Level Snowcat Operator Qualifications:
