What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finish Prep Material Handler - 3rd shift -16.00/hr position at Valdese Weavers?

Job Summary: Sew rolls of fabric requiring the same finishing process together.
Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards:
- Determine cloth to be plated and pull order according to tickets.
- Arrange tickets to match the order in which fabric is sewn together
- Pull cloth tightly between pins and sew together in straight seams, preventing bow and bias.
- Make sure fabric goes through the frame and folds into buggy or rolls unto T frame without getting twisted. If fabric becomes twisted or something happens to the rollers at the top of the plater, use the ladder provided to reach and correct the problem.
- Move fabric to the next process.
- Work scheduled overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Keep the work area and equipment clean and free from safety hazards. Maintain proper housekeeping.
- Operate equipment properly. Report malfunctions or maintenance concerns to the supervisor.
Safety:
- Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers.
- Report all job related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
- Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards.
- Safety belt/harness when using PIT.
- Maintain 5 S standards.
Qualifications:
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Be able to follow special instructions and directions.
- Forklift license is required for moving buggies and lifting fabric to storage tubes.
- Basic computer skills and use of LXE gun.
