Job Summary : Make warps used in weaving
Tools and Equipment used : hoist, beam truck, lift truck, refractometer, cleaning equipment, and utility knife.
Essential Functions : Perform the following duties according to ISO 9001 work instructions and standards :
- Perform beginning shift walk-thru to check for correct set-ups.
- Unload empty dye beams from the creel and move them to warping.
- Operate forklifts when needed.
- Put dye beams in racks for sets going to the Main plant to be dyed.
- Prepare in advance for the next set on the schedule by moving beams to Slasher.
- Load the creel correctly, in proper order, using the brake and rods with the correct air pressure.
- Enter all information on the slasher set sheet of the set just loaded.
- Keep all creels loaded to maintain production goals.
- Lay dye beams in hook reed.
- Fill in necessary in the Machine Assistant position and all functions associated with that job.
- Patrol slasher for end breaks and other quality problems.
- Prepare loom beams in advance for production while cutting off scrap yarn from the waste beam.
- Clean the assigned area, empty trash cans and sweep the assigned area.
- Meet deadlines and production quotas.
- Work scheduled overtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Other Requirements :
- Cross train for Machine Assistant job and perform as needed and when asked to perform
- Associate is to maintain a points balance of 5 points or less.
Safety :
Must use a safety glove when cutting off warp yarn from the beams.
