What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Valencia Sports Park?
Bookkeeping professional experienced with QuickBooks Pro desktop version. Manage records for two small businesses. Part-time position 10-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule. Daytime business hours preferred, but some of the time can be evenings or weekends. Pay rate is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
Duties Include:
Processing receivables, posting deposits
Posting payables, processing batches of checks
Light collections - mostly sending past due notices
Balance bank statements
Collect required payroll information and transfer to our payroll service
Process sales tax reports and payments
Accurately filing documents related to above duties
Implement cost saving measures such as electronic distribution of invoices, ACH payments, and in-office scanning of deposits to minimize trips to the bank.
Work with our CPA firm to assure proper placement of transactions within our QuickBooks system, to update our chart of accounts, and to make accounting adjustments for taxes.
Special projects such as reorganize our filing and records management systems.
The main business is in manufacturing and sells wholesale to a limited number of customers. It has been in existence for 42 years and is located in an office / industrial park located in the Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh close to the casino and across the street from UPS. The complex offers plenty of free parking and has 24 hour on-site security.
The second business is in commercial recreation and located in Butler County. Bookkeeping duties for this business can be completed from the accounting office of the manufacturing business as most transactions are electronic and the records are available through an online portal to the POS system.
