Who Are We Looking For
The Associate Buyer will be responsible for overseeing the Women’s shoes and Fashion Jewelry categories. They are responsible for identifying product opportunities and executing merchandising strategies to maximize sales, margin and store performance. This role will report to the General Merchandising Director Americas.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop pre-market merchandise strategies consistent with financial goals and informed by competitive research, hindsight sales analysis and store feedback
- Under guidance of GMD, participate in buying process, including product selection, allocation, sizing and order placement during seasonal markets in Milan
- Collaborate with management and Merchandising team in Italy to ensure that the message and strategy of seasonal collections is delivered locally
- Identify selling trends, place reorders and balance stock levels to optimize sales and ensure stock/size integrity in the store network
- Partner with Store Managers and corporate team to address product needs and drive sales
- Conduct daily/weekly business analysis to track selling/receipts, identify key trends and maximize opportunities
- In partnership with management, create product training documents and conduct remote/in-person trainings with store teams
- Create ad hoc documents including, but not limited to: Buy/On-Hand Assortment Recaps for VM Planning and Product focuses to inform and push key groups in-season
- Collaborate with PR and Celebrity to identify product pulls that best address business needs
- Support store openings and special activations
- Minimum 3 years of experience in luxury retail industry
- Must have buying or merchandising experience in the shoe category
- Ability to travel (including internationally)
- Clear and concise communication skills – verbal and written
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Must be a team player
- Superior attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills, particularly in analyzing sales data
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas including VLOOKUP, SUMIF; Pivot Tables; Charts)
- SAP experience is a plus but not required

Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
