Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of the companys incoming and outgoing payments. This role will support both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure smooth cash flow operations.
This position requires in-person office attendance and is based in our Carmel, Indiana headquarters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process, verify, and record all incoming payments and ensure proper classification of revenue.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of customer invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and work with the advisors and compliance to ensure payments are collected on time.
- Process and record all client refunds and ensure their accuracy, timely delivery, and proper classification.
- Process and record outgoing payments, including vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and other liabilities.
- Ensure that all payments are made in accordance with company policy and applicable terms.
- Record entries for and reconcile company credit card accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintains and updates customer and vendor files to ensure accurate delivery of invoices and collection of payments.
- Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist in handling any discrepancies in accounts and payment issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
