Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Wire Technician that is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring and components in vehicles. This role involves reading schematics, troubleshooting electrical systems, and ensuring proper connections to support vehicle functionality and safety. The technician must have a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and be able to work efficiently with various wiring tools and diagnostic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, harnesses, and related components in vehicles.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate installation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including shorts, faulty connections, and damaged wiring.
- Test electrical systems using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Perform wiring modifications and upgrades to enhance vehicle performance or accommodate new components.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper wiring techniques.
- Work closely with engineers, mechanics, and production teams to meet project requirements.
- Document work performed, including wiring changes, repairs, and inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and circuit testing.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and scanning devices.
- Experience with soldering, crimping, and splicing wires.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
