VG is looking to hire a Construction Management Representative (CMR) for construction management services on a National Park Service project for their Rehabilitate Jones Mill Pond Dam project at the Colonial National Historical Park in York County, Virginia. This is a Full-Time position, option of W2 or 1099. Experience working on Federal CM-type work will be viewed highly favorably.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpret project documents and scope of work
- Lead and conduct progress / safety meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Handle Submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, Contractor’s Payment Requests, Schedules etc.
- Schedule and conduct site inspections and prepare daily reports
- Effective communication and coordination with various stakeholders
- Ensure construction is as per policies, procedures and plan
- Lead and Manage timely completion of construction project
- Ensure safety at construction project site
- Manage and support project close-out activities
Qualification & Skills:
- Minimum 10 Years of experience managing commercial construction projects.
- Highly Preferred - Experience working on Federal CM Projects, in particular NPS projects
- Highly Preferred - Knowledge of and experience with building rehabilitation, including remediation and demolition
- Highly Preferred - Knowledge of and experience with site civil, concrete paving, historic brick restoration and construction practices
- Highly Preferred - Expertise and experience in civil engineering
- Highly Preferred - Expertise and experience in earthen dam restoration
- Associates / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, as well as certifications related to construction practices and inspection of construction work
- Must have 30-hour OSHA construction safety training
- Proficiency in construction s/w like PCM, Procore, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, etc.
- Effective Interpersonal and oral / written communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret and understand Construction Contracts, Plans and Specifications
- Experience working with Government resource protection measures will be viewed highly favorably
Rates / Compensation:
- $50-70 / Hr. Per Diem depending on experience and qualifications
