Valiant Integrated Services has an immediate opening for a Sustainment Analyst Trainer in support of the Joint Staff J7, Joint Training, in Suffolk Virginia. The Sustainment Subject Matter Expert (SME) Provides supports to the Combatant Commands / Geographic oriented Joint Event Support Teams (JESTs) and other sections/teams of the JS J7 and JST. The SME will support the implementation of CJCS guidance and policy while coordinating plans, analysis, design, and command & control activities pursuant to the conduct of sustainment operations in joint exercise design for Combatant Commanders and Joint Task Force Commanders.

Requirements: The successful candidate will:
- Assist in providing strategic direction and insights based on joint doctrine, best practices and lessons learned to integrate specific sustainment solutions into joint and multinational strategic and operational plans through the joint commander's exercise program.
- Support the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) process and completion of designated milestones pertaining to sustainment planning integration into exercise design and execution.
- Partner with the joint force headquarters staffs during planning and execution to develop and refine in-theater strategic campaigns, joint contingency planning processes and systems, combined operations that integrates joint, interagency, and multinational capabilities in order to meet the joint force commander's operational and strategic objectives.
- Collects and synthesizes observations to assist the joint force commander and staff in comprehensive improvement of staff processes and their impact on the ability to achieve effective unified action through exercise design and execution.
- Through continuous interaction and partnership with operational joint force staffs, identifies areas of evolution in ongoing operations and their strategic and operational impact and integrates insights and best practices into the evolution of the joint force exercise program.
- Provide feedback on the operational and strategic effects of new joint doctrine, lessons learned, validated solutions and validated concepts in increasing the joint operational capabilities of the joint force worldwide.
- Conduct and provides detailed sustainment analysis to the senior leadership of strategic and operational joint force headquarters and provides strategic direction based on a detailed understanding of a comprehensive approach, including theater specific contingency planning, that leads to the achievement of unified action.
- Supports organization objectives, independently or as a team member to identify joint sustainment requirements, develops support concepts, identifies resources, supports obtaining models/simulation sustainment data requirements, and assists in the development of mission plans and orders.
- Displays a comprehensive understanding of joint doctrine, policies, core joint logistical capabilities and Service capabilities and how strategic operational logistics applies to campaign design, other functions, cross domain responsibilities, and contributes to unified action.
- Through continuous partnership with Combatant Command and JTF staffs, develops strategic understanding of national military strategy issues and integrates those results into theater specific sustainment functions.
- Sustainment is the provision of logistics and personal services necessary to maintain and prolong operations until successful mission completion.
- Sustainment encompasses all of the core logistics capabilities to include:
- Supply
- Maintenance deployment and distribution
- Health service support
- Engineering
- Logistics services and operational contract support.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of, and experience in, Joint Sustainment planning.
- Ability to write concisely at an executive level.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree and 4 years of experience.
- Must be willing to travel worldwide, to include areas considered hazardous duty.
- S. Citizen with an active Secret level security clearance, upgradeable to Top Secret. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Able to obtain a Company Travel Card
- Combatant Command, Joint Task Force, Division, Afloat staff, or Wing staff experience.
- Joint Forces Staff College or Service equivalent.
- Understanding of the requirements for staffs to support the commander’s decision cycle.
- Understanding of the Joint Planning Process (JPP).
- Experience with the preparation and conduct of seminars or study groups for flag officers.
- Ability to write and prepare operational orders and plans.
- Experience in the compilation and presentation in both written and oral formats of lessons learned and after-action review material.
- Experience with operational planning efforts at the operational and strategic levels.
